Farmer’s Deli launches 'Know My Food' campaign

A campaign run by children for children for lunch with a healthy punch

As that time of the year approaches, Farmer’s Deli makes Back-to-School easier with events and ideas for healthy options for lunchboxes.

While children need guidance to learn to know their food; parents and carers are reaching out for advice on how to prepare low maintenance lunches packed with goodness rather than unhealthy quick fixes.

The programme will be launched at Ramla Bay Resort with a hands-on practical session led by Executive Chef Chris Borg, known for his artistic health food and father of three children.

So let’s get cracking. Join us for the first event on Tuesday 19th September at 11am at the Ramla Bay Beach Resort.

In an easy and fun environment, children between the age of 5 and 8 will have games to learn:

  • What is clean food

  • What their body needs to grow strong

  • How to toss an easy lunch which tastes YUM!

Yes, kids will be encouraged to voice their health food preferences and explain to their friends why. Then they will grab the ingredients and make their own dish with the help of Executive Chef Chris Borg.

That’s not all. Moving is important too, so before lunch kids channel their energy through music and exercise with the Ramla Bay animators.

A health food buffet follows for accompanying adults and kids. Participants may continue enjoying the natural beach using the resort facilities for as long as sunset.

The event, which can be stretched to a full day for those who can make the time, costs €20 for adults and €10 for kids. The price includes:

  • A welcome non-alcoholic drink

  • The hands-on experience for children

  • Buffet lunch with healthy drinks options

  • A giveaway by the authentic toy store Three Little Pigs

  • Use of the beach resort facilities

All food at the event will be prepared with organic ingredients.

To give everyone individual attention, this event will host only 15 kids (accompanied by a parent or carer) , on a first-come-first-served basis.

For queries or to book, send an email to farmersdelimalta@gmail.com or a private message on our Facebook page Farmer’s Deli by Saturday 16th September with names of participants, child’s age and mobile number.
